Ian Layfield Dry Stone Waller - Ilkley, Yorkshire
There is nothing like the look of a dry stone wall for its practicality, durablity and as a beautiful solution for a boundary - A dry stone wall is a free standing wall built without mortar using carefully selected interlocking stones and smaller stones to pack the space between the wall faces.
Dry stone walls (also known as "dry stone hedges" or "rock fences") are stable structures because of their unique construction method and are ideal for building constructions, field boundaries or as retaining walls.
Ian has over 30 years experience as a dry stone waller in the repairing of dry stone walls and in the construction of new dry stone walls: from complete new builds, renovation and conservation projects to agricultural work, commercial developments and artistic stone features. He carries out a range of large and small scale work throughout Yorkshire using locally sourced materials where available.
Dry stone walls can be constructed to compliment residential properties as a perimeter wall, as a retaining wall on banking or as an artistic addition to your garden features.
A normal wall height of 4'6"/140cm (a standard stock-proof ht.) although a dry stone wall up to 6'/185cm can be suitably achieved.
Ian has a great reputation within Yorkshire and covers an area that includes Addingham, Skipton, Burley in Wharfedale, Otley, Menston, Leeds, Harrogate, Halifax, Wharfedale, the Yorkshire Dales, Airdale and surrounding areas.
Whether you require a repair - no matter how large or small, a new build or some artistic feature to compliment your garden then contact Ian Layfield with your enquiries or to arrange a site visit and quote
- Insurance work also undertaken.
